It is with great pleasure that we announce that Professor Michelle McKinley has been awarded the 2017 Judy Ewell Award for the Best Publication in Women’s History, presented by the Rocky Mountain Council for Latin American Studies (RMCLAS). She received this honor for her recent publication with the Studies in Legal History series, Fractional Freedoms: Slavery, Intimacy, and Legal Mobilization in Colonial Lima, 1600-1700 (Cambridge University Press, 2016). The award will be presented at the RMCLAS banquet in Salt Lake City, Utah, in April. In the meantime, we congratulate Professor McKinley for the well-deserved recognition for Fractional Freedoms.
